Host Your Next Event With These Monterey Catering Companies!
Feeding the masses can be a somewhat daunting task, and we don’t envy you if you’re in the dilemma. However, outside of some awesome team building activities you might try out for some bonding, Monterey Bay also has some great catering services to help make your special night even more memorable! Whether you’re hosting a wedding, corporate event, birthday, or just looking for any ol’ reason to get down, here’s a list of catering companies that will go above and beyond in whatever occasion you have.
The Events by Classic Group
Formerly known as Classic Catering, The Events by Classic Group is something of a one-stop-shop for all of your catering needs. They have three different locations to choose from, and offer something unique at each one. One is the Perry House, which you may recognize if you joined us on our Haunted Monterey Food Tour. However, ghostly legends should only excite you, and if you’re looking to host a corporate event, wedding, or have other catering needs, we highly recommend one of Monterey’s first Victorians. The house is perched on a little hill providing a nice view of the surrounding bay, and ample backyard space gives you all the room you need to dance and drink the night away.
Additionally, the company who owns the Perry House also offers catering services at the Monterey Beach House if you’re looking for a literal, on-the-beach experience, as well as The Barns over at the Cooper Molera Adobe. Those of you who have joined us on our Old Monterey Food Tour might be familiar with the orchard and chef’s garden we pass by just outside. Whichever location you choose, The Events by Classic Group is sure to throw a party you’re never going to forget.
Epsilon Fine Greek Restaurant
We love Greek food, and any time we have a craving, we always make sure to head over to Epsilon Fine Greek Restaurant. Of course, if you’ve ever joined us on our Old Monterey Food Tour, you’re already familiar with the laid-back ambience, friendly service, and incredible food. However, they also offer catering services that bring the food to you! Chris and Dallie have done a lot over the years to lift the business to where it is right now, so the next time you’re craving some baklava at an event, be sure to give these two a ring!
One of our favorite things about their dinner service — and something you can experience for yourself on a Custom and Private Tour — is their tableside saganaki. The good news is, if you’re hosting a catered event, they offer full service and delivery to you. Trust us, your guests will want to be dazzled by the sizzling cheese as they have a momentary gasp of fear thinking it might burn off the chef’s face! One thing’s for sure, the Greeks know how to party, so let Epsilon show you how it’s done. They offer weddings, special occasion parties, events and charities both on and off site.
Aabha Indian Grill
Are you looking for some food with a little more flair? Say, something like Indian? Well, why not choose Monterey County Weekly’s 2019 choice for Best Indian Food — Aabha Indian Grill! We know you know their food if you’ve been with us on our Old Monterey Food Tour, and we don’t blame the people who head back for more samosas or butter chicken. We also don’t judge anyone who buys the mango lassi by the jug, but we digress.
If you don’t want to visit them at one of their locations, they’ll come to you! They do both service and drop-off catering, depending your needs. We’re serious when we say we’d book them for an event for the mango lassi alone, but with a wide array of Indian favorites to choose from, spice up your next party by getting it from some of the best in town. Those who have experienced them on our tour also know they do anything but skimp on the portion sizes, so the only thing you’ll need to make sure of is that your guests are hungry! They certainly won’t be after an event with Aabha.
Aqua Terra Culinary
Sustainability is something we care deeply about, as those who have joined us on our Local Seafood Tour would know. Aqua Terra Culinary offers farm-to-table products for the events they cater, and local never tasted so fresh! Their menu rotates seasonally based on whatever’s available, and they’re a great choice if you want to keep a focus on the healthiest and freshest products. They help in creating a client-specific menu for each event, so give them a call and see what you can whip up for your next event.
They have certain venues they partner with already if you’re looking for a venue to host your event as well, but they can always come to you as well. On top of all of that, they’ve won the Best Catering Company from the Monterey County Weekly in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, so we think it’s pretty safe to say you’ll have an incredible experience with them, whatever you choose to do and wherever you choose to do it.
Tap Truck
Any interest in having a microbrewery roll up to your party and start pouring beers on tap? Well, you certainly wouldn’t want to pass up an opportunity to call the Tap Truck, then. They started as a small startup in San Diego in 2016, and now have operations across Southern California and the Central Coast — with one of them being fortunate enough to be here in Monterey!
This is perfect for 21 and over events. Outside of the beer, they also offer other wine and cocktail services, so call them if you’re trying to get the festivities going. Make sure you drink responsibly when you call the Tap Truck, and take lots of pictures! You never know which memories might be a little hazy the next morning.
Nitro Cycle
If booze isn’t exactly your thing, you can also always consider hitting up Nitro Cycle for beverages at your event. With nitro flash brew coffee and nitro tea on draft, this is great for a mid-afternoon party for people who might need a little bit of a pick-me-up.
If you’ve been on our Old Monterey Food Tour, especially more than once, you might recognize Mike, the biker behind the businesses. We offer samplings of Nitro Cycle (sometimes with an almond croissant from Paris Bakery) at the Salvador Dali Museum, and he also drops off our pizza from Heirloom when we hang out at Fieldwork Brewery. With two businesses that cater and deliver, all run by one man on a bike, we have to tip our hats to him. We wish we could burn as many calories a day as he does!
